The Power Behind the Throne

Looking into the eyes of a chimpanzee is a soul stirring reunion with our closest relative. The facial expressions, their fingers and toes, the way they hug, there are so many familiar reminders of our close lineage. I soon learned of their complex politics and was captivated by one chimp in particular known as the King Maker, renowned for his political savvy.
