Chindeni Camp is one of the finest camps in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia and is part of the outstanding circuit operated by The Bushcamp Company. The specialties are walking safaris and night drives and I had some of my best game viewing ever around Chindeni Camp last October, including watching a lion pride hunting at night and the subsequent devouring of an impala – I hope to have video posted in the next few days. For the group I guided Chindeni was their favorite of the Bushcamps.
Upgrade to Chindeni Camp
During the green season the common areas of Chindeni camp have been redesigned and rebuilt while the tents look to be about the same but with new furniture and a bit of a refresh. The guest tents are huge and are no doubt one of the most luxurious of The Bushcamp Company properties.
The rebuild of Chindeni Camp's common area looks great, it seems to keep all of the commanding views and though more dressed up then previously - does not appear to have gone over the top as so many safari camps have done. Instead, simple luxury that complements the focus of the wild setting has remained and that is in keeping with the authentic walking safari experience that The Bushcamp Company is known for.
Chindeni Camp has just reopened last Saturday (May 29) and I am fortunate to have pictures of the new camp to share, all courtesy of my friends at The Bushcamp Company.
Chindeni Camp Photos

Outdoor dining with a tremendous view by day and the stars at night.

Common area lounging is simple and open. It is a big advantage to have camps that take a maximum of 8 guests as it keeps things small and intimate.

Guest tents are some of the biggest I have seen and they are well raised off the ground to affording awesome views and catching the breeze off the water.

New furniture that blends in well and fits the space while leaving the large open feel.

Ensuite bathrooms complete the luxury tent.
