Bill has now moved on to Rwanda - and has already been gorilla trekking for two days! I'm actually still a day or two behind here, but below the map in this blog post is a text message that Bill sent to me while in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda after a day of gorilla trekking. Sounds like an amazing experience - and I bet one of the most amazing wildlife experiences Bill has ever had. For his full itinerary and links to his entire trip, click on the appropriate link below:

Bill is currently in Rwanda, gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park. He is staying at Saybinyo Silverback Lodge. His next stop will be an overnight in Johannesburg on September 1st at the Tongabezi Safari Lodge. From there, he'll move on to Zambia and Botswana.

Text Message from Rwanda!

Today did first gorilla trek. Hirwa group silverback passed by me inches away as i crouched forward on hands and knees in submission and he patted my back with his open hand on his way past to confirm his dominance - my smile could not have been bigger! Touched by a 400 lb gentle goliath. A minute later his babies followed him and a couple of wrestling toddlers rolled into my knee. Then a 1 year old approached and was tapping her fingernail on my shoe until the ranger warned her away. Amazing!
