Hyena Sighting in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Friday, 13 March 2009 15:33 by BillGiven

In the wake of the Chimpanzee attack in Connecticut comes another story about an exotic pet who should have never been a pet.  Fortunately, this story appears to have a happier ending than the chimpanzee story.

In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a man was cited for having a 1 year old hyena in his backyard.  The hyena was kept within a chain link fence and had its very own dog house.  Authorities took the Hyena away to a wildlife refuge of sorts within South Carolina.

The Hyena's owner chose to name his exotic pet Bubbles.  When fully grown, "Bubbles" will have a devastatingly strong bite and have the ability to eat and digest all parts of its prey - including hide and bones.

The link to the full story is here.  Be sure to check out the link to the pictures.  If nothing else, the Hyena looks healthy - and fortunately no one was hurt...

As a side note, I know how difficult it can be to choose the appropriate domestic pet for your household. That's why as a public service, I've provided the handy pet identification guide below. I hope it helps those of you who are trying to figure out what type of animal to bring into your home.

The pet is the one on the left. Hopefully most of you guessed right.

That is such a good useful resource that you just are supplying so you give it away for no cost. I adore seeing sites that understand the worth of furnishing a top quality useful resource for no cost. Thank you for this great source!
