Sankuyo Bush Camp is a new camp in Botswana that I am featuring with a series of blog posts. This is the fourth and final blog post about Sankuyo Bush Camp. This post describes the accommodations available at the camp. For other Sankuyo Bush Camp blog posts, please click on the appropriate link below:
Classic Accommodations at Sankuyo Bush Camp

Sankuyo Bush Camp consists of just six mini-Meru style tents that are spacious enough to hold twin beds (can be pushed together to make a double) with ample room left for your luggage and to move around. A back zipper allows access to a private ensuite bathroom enclosed by lethaka (reed) walls and an open view of the sky. A flush loo and hot bucket showers upon request complete the comfort. A bucket shower with an open sky is a classic safari experience, as is sleeping under simple canvas surrounded by the sounds of the wild. The tents are placed to blend with the environment and some have large trees that are encompassed by the bathroom walls.

A quaint open air lounge and dinning area under thatch completes the simple camp.

The overall effect is that Sankuyo Bush Camp is built to emphasize a closeness with wilderness, keeping you in tune with the nature around you rather than trying to bring your normal world to the bush. Here you can escape and really experience Botswana, and you can do it for ½ the high season price of most camps in the region!
